This pink and black fondant cake is one of my favorite color combinations. The subtlety of the pink with the black makes a bold, yet elegant statement for this 21 year old. The birthday girl was very pleased with her cake.
I made this cake for a Halloween office party. The orange and yellow leaves were made of fondant and the pumpkins of white chocolate. The pretzel stick fence put the last finishing touch on this cake.
This was my first attempt at a 2-tiered fondant cake. I also used gumpaste for the first time to make the cherry blossoms. It is a carrot cake filled with cream cheese filling and iced with lemon buttercream, covered in fondant. I also made chocolate cupcakes with the remaining cherry blossom flowers.
