This pink and black fondant cake is one of my favorite color combinations. The subtlety of the pink with the black makes a bold, yet elegant statement for this 21 year old. The birthday girl was very pleased with her cake.
This was my first attempt at a 2-tiered fondant cake. I also used gumpaste for the first time to make the cherry blossoms. It is a carrot cake filled with cream cheese filling and iced with lemon buttercream, covered in fondant. I also made chocolate cupcakes with the remaining cherry blossom flowers.
